In addition to providing pre-professional advice, Cabot House also
offers a wide variety of resources for those students who would
like to explore other career opportunities.
As head of "Other Advising", Bev
Foulks will be overseeing some new advising initiatives for
Cabot House. These include weekly "advising nights" on Wednesday
evenings which will bring non-residential and residential tutors
to the Cabot dining hall to provide academic advice, opportunities
for students to connect with Senior Common Room members in their
fields of interest, and various sessions and workshops that will
be organized by David
Humphrey (Cabot House liaison to OCS), Therese
Leung (Public Service tutor), and other Cabot House tutors.
Topics at these advising nights have ranged from the music industry,
to being gay in the workplace, to negotiation strategies, to the
electoral college, etc.
Cabot House will also be continuing to offer non-academic advice
to sophomores through its sophomore advising program, organized
by Samuel
Lipoff.
