Hi Cabot! My name is Abena (pronounced: uh-bay-nuh) and I am doctoral student at the Ed School. I grew up in New York City and went to Princeton for undergrad. After Princeton, I returned to New York to teach 6th grade Special Education as a member of Teach for America and then attended the London School of Economics for a Masters in Sociology. My research examines the intersection between education and criminal justice, and I enjoy discussing issues and events in either of those fields. I listen to a lot of podcasts (and am always looking for recs) and am unskilled but enthusiastic about playing board games. I am looking forward to meeting you all! Stop by C-32 and say hello!
