My name is Mike Russell. I have been the Building Superintendent at Cabot House for the last four years. Prior to working at Harvard, I was the Property Manager for MassAudubon at the Drumlin Farm site for eleven years. Drumlin Farm is a great working farm with lots of animals and organic vegetables just 12 miles west of Cambridge. I really enjoyed working outdoors there and learning so much about birds and their habitats.
Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Construction Management at
Wentworth Institute of Technology. I am fascinated by the engineering of the past and in the modern technologies the future offers to building maintenance. The Harvard quad buildings have presented an amazing history lesson in both form and function.
My wife Suzanne is a teacher in Cambridge at a nearby public school. I have two daughters, Sarah, 15 and Maddie 13. They both enjoy sports and are involved in competitive basketball leagues. We enjoy keeping up with Harvard teams as many of the top athletes live right here at Cabot.
In my spare time, I love riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle. I am in the market for a new Streetglide. Suzanne and I love working around the yard, planting trees and tending a vegetable garden. We tend to hibernate in the winter and catch up on movies.
I love working at Cabot, it’s been a pleasure to meet so many talented students. I hope that you know you can always stop in the office to say hello, or to ask for help with a building issue. I want to make sure that everyone feels safe and welcome at Cabot.
