The Common Spaces of Cabot

Cabot is composed of six buildings which surround the Radcliffe quadrangle. Within those six buildings, there are many common spaces open for reservation to all of our residents. These include: 

  • The Briggs Common Room (C-Entry) – Capacity: 40
  • The basement classroom/ Under the C (basement of C-Entry) – Capacity: 50
  • The Cabot Living Room (E-Entry) – Capacity: 149 (seated: 60)
  • The Cabot Theater (F-Entry) – Capacity: 400 (seated: 100)
  • The Whitman Common Room (G-Entry) – Capacity: 30
  • Cabot House Library (I-Entry) – Capacity: 50
  • The Bertram Common Room (K Entry) - Capacity: 42
  • The Dance Studio (K-Entry, basement) - Capacity: 15
  • The Lansing Room (L-Entry) - Capacity: 42
  • The Private Dining Room (Dining Hall) - Capacity: 20
  • The Barnard Common Room (M/N Entry) - Capacity: 42
  • Barnard music practice room (Barnard Hall basement) - Capacity: 10

 

Additionally, Cabot House has a long tradition of empowering students to use our spaces and our residents are encouraged to take ownership of spaces to make them their own. Hence, in addition to our various common rooms, Cabot also has several spaces which are student-managed. 

These include: 

  • The Cabot Café (E-Entry basement)
  • H-101/The Galley (H-101)
  • The Third Space (Art Studio)
  • The gym (F-Entry basement)
  • The wellness room (L-01)- managed by HoCo & tutors
  • The game room (E-Entry basement)- managed by HoCo
  • The Aquarium (F-Entry)- managed by HoCo

Other spaces are intended as resources for everyone to use, without reservation. These include:

  • The Nook/The Cranny (basement of D-Entry, in Tunnels near dining hall)
  • Kitchens in the basements of Briggs (A-01), Bertram (K-04), Eliot (I-05a), and Whitman (F-003) Halls.
  • The computer room (M-05)
