Kimia Heydari

Hi fish!

My name is Kimia and I am exalted to return as one of the Cabot tutors this year. In the house, I am the CARE and thesis tutor and part of the phenomenal pre-med team here. At Harvard, I am a fourth year MD student. My research and clinical interests include radiology and minimally invasive treatments for cancer. 

I grew up in Tehran in a multi-generational household. Before moving to Cambridge in 2023, I studied English Literature in New York City and volunteered at a modern art museum in Washington DC. While medicine makes up a lot of how I see the world, I turn to writing and translating poetry from Farsi as a way to move through it. I also try to spend as much time as possible near streams of water, especially running long distances along the Charles. This past summer, I relished in Clarice Lispector's lush prose in Agua Viva and equally found myself gripped to novels concerning our strange digital lives, including Vincenzo Latronica's Perfection and Ben Lerner's Transcription. 

I am always an email or knock away from a conversation, a book recommendation, a tarot card reading, or a walk through Cambridge. Don’t be a stranger—I’m a friendly fish : )
