Hi Cabot!

My name is Luise, I’m a third-year PhD student in Harvard’s Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies, and live in Briggs Hall. Before moving to Cambridge, I studied art history and classical archaeology in Berlin, Paris, and at UC Berkeley. I love swimming and surfing in large bodies of water, drawing, dancing, yoga, traveling, and ending up in somewhat bizarre places that are fodder for writing. When I'm not overwhelmed by reading for work (it happens), my mind is usually occupied by a novel or two. This summer, I most enjoyed Christa Wolf's "Medea" and also fell down an Emmanuel Carrère rabbit hole that I have yet to emerge from.

At Cabot, I am responsible for Third Space, our amazing in-house art and pottery studio, and am also here for all international students to connect you to resources at Harvard and to each other.
