Cabot events and traditions

October 4, 2022

At Cabot House, we hold events for our whole community and for parts of our community (Sophomore/Junior/senior dinners, entryway study breaks), and tutors will organize events for students which are open to students, but may have space limitations.

Our common annual events include:

  • Beginning of semester Town Hall meeting
  • Semper Corpse
  • Festivus
  • Spring/Winter formals

Some events are recuring on a regular basis, either weekly or monthly. These include:

  • Open House events with the Faculty Deans
  • Study breaks

There will also be affinity-based programs, advertised by your tutors, and available to all who sign up. These include:

  • Wellness events
  • outings
  • IM Sports
  • Baking events/Cabot culinaries
  • The Cabot musical & theater events

Cabot also has a student-run cafe, a student-run common room, an art studio, a gym, 6 common rooms and various study spaces.

Cabot House is constantly re-shaped by our students. If you have an idea for how to use a common space or a new tradition you would like to start, come talk to the House Administrator or Faculty Deans.

Finally, it is worth noting that Cabot is an inclusive house. We frequently seek to bond with our quad neighbors, and have a tradition of supporting Currier and Pforzheimer Houses in public events (such as Housing Day), as well as sharing events with our quad neighbors.
